The City of Russell Springs recognized former mayor Joel Wolford at its council meeting last week.
Wolford, who was first elected as the city’s mayor in 1993, is credited with making the city park what it is today by Russell Springs Mayor Eddie Thomas.
Thomas said Wolford was a deserving recipient of the city’s Anchor Award.
Wolford said it was a privilege to serve the city during his time as mayor.
Wolford was recently elected as President of the Kentucky Education Association.
