The City of Russell Springs is patterning with multiple local banks on a new project known as the “Bankers Field of Dreams” at the city park.
The project involves some significant renovations to one of the existing fields at the city park to design a new field aimed at providing greater accessibility for special needs children in the community.
Mayor Eddie Thomas announced the project during last night’s city council meeting. Thomas said the project holds special meaning to him.
Thomas said he thinks the new field will be a nice addition to the community.
Thomas told WJRS News that with donations from local banks, the cost of renovating the field will almost entirely be covered by donations.
