Laker Baseball picks up district win at Monroe County

The Laker Baseball team picked up a district win at Monroe County last night by a score of 10-2.

Ayden McGowan finished with a pair of hits for Russell County, and Mayes Gosser drove in two runs.

Owen Loy got the start on the mound, giving up 2 runs (both unearned) on 3 hits and striking out 6 batters. Gosser entered in relief, pitching two innings, and giving up no hits or runs, and striking out 2 batters.

The Lakers head to Casey County tonight, where they will take on Lincoln County in a 2A matchup. That one gets underway at 5:00.
