A Russell Springs man was injured this morning when he was struck by a vehicle while crossing a downtown street.
According to Police Chief Bryan Shepard’s preliminary report, Betty Ellis, of Russell Springs, was driving a 2017 Jeep Patriot and turning from Jamestown Street onto Main Street when the vehicle struck James Withers.
The report indicates Ellis did not see Withers, who was walking across the street in a designated crosswalk.
Withers was transported by ambulance to Russell County Hospital for treatment and observation.
