Columbia Police Report September Enforcement and Community Activities

Columbia Police recorded 778 calls for service and contacts during September, according to the department’s monthly activity report released by Chief Evan Burton.

Officers issued 73 citations and investigated 26 accidents, including four involving injuries. The department also opened six criminal cases, completed 15 incident reports, assisted 17 motorists and provided 21 escorts.

Other activities included a drug enforcement operation and extra patrols for Adair County Schools and Lindsey Wilson University.

Officers also participated in virtual reality headset training, Chief Burton attended an Adair County WATCH Coalition meeting, and the department donated clothing to Joy Ministries.
