The Russell County Laker boys golf team suffered its first conference loss of the season Thursday at The Pines in Columbia.
Adair County defeated Russell County by 10 strokes, 153 to 163.
Gabe Browning led the Lakers with a round of 36. Josiah Dudgeon and Grider Selby each shot a 42, while Gavin Campbell finished with a 43 to round out Russell County’s team score.
Other Laker scores included Riggs Richardson with a 40, Collin Meyers with a 42, Grant Wilson with a 45, Raylan McAnich with a 46, Brockman Carter with a 47, Conner Morrison with a 49, Ben Brown and Bryliee Wright each with a 52, and Dylan Withers with a 56.
The varsity golf team will be in action tomorrow in London for the North Laurel Invitational and on Sunday in Monticello for the Stewart Gregory Memorial.
The middle school golfers will be competing tomorrow in the middle school state regional at Old Bridge Golf Club in Danville.
