BOYS SOCCER: Varsity Lakers Fall 3–1; JV Claims 2–1 Victory Thursday at Barren

The Russell County Laker boys soccer teams split their matches on the road against Barren County.

In the varsity contest, Gabriel Velazquez drew an early foul that set up a penalty kick by Sebastian Betts-Jimenez, giving Russell County the opening lead. Barren County responded with three unanswered goals, however, as the Trojans defeated the Lakers 3-to-1.

The junior varsity Lakers fell behind early after allowing a goal on a free kick, but battled back with unanswered goals from Diego Hernandez and Kevin Gomez to secure a 2-to-1 victory.
