Russell Springs Fire Chief Bobby Johnson recently announced the department raised over $8,000 for the annual WHAS Crusade for Children this year.
Firefighters and other volunteers were out last weekend collecting donations at the intersection of Highway 127 and Highway 80 in Russell Springs. Johnson reported this year’s total amount raised was $8,100.90.
This is the 56th year the fire department has been involved in collecting donations for the crusade, which raises funds for agencies, schools, and hospitals, all with the shared goal of improving the lives of children with special needs.
