The Laker Baseball team picked up a pair of wins on Saturday.
The Lakers defeated Casey County 6-2. Tanner Stringer, Jace Scaggs and Alden Brumley each finished with 2 hits. Ben Kemp and Walker Stephens each drove in a run for Russell County.
Luke Walters picked up the win on the mound, striking out 9 batters while giving up just 3 hits in 7 innings of work.
The Lakers also picked up a 10-0 win over Holy Cross. Walker Stephens finished with a hit and team-high 4 RBI. Evan Hutchison finished with a pair of hits, driving in 3 runs on the day.
Blaine Melton earned the win pitching, throwing a 5-inning no-hitter while striking out 9 batters.
The Lakers are in action today, going on the road to take on Somerset at 5:30.
