Two people were hospitalized following a house fire in Columbia earlier this week.
Firefighters were called out just after 7 o’clock Monday morning to a house fire on West Barbee Street near Campbellsville Road.
The Columbia-Adair County Fire Department said when firefighters arrived, the home already had heavy fire and smoke conditions.
Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the residence, but two adults – a man and woman – were taken to TJ Health Columbia to be treated for smoke inhalation.
The names of the individuals were not released by officials. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
