Man who allegedly took Pulaski County child to West Virginia pleads guilty to federal child pornography charge

Back in March, we reported the arrest of an eastern Kentucky man who allegedly picked up a child in the Nancy community of Pulaski County and took that child to West Virginia without the parents’ knowledge or consent.

That man, identified as 47-year-old Michael Anthony Moon of Jackson County, pleaded guilty this week in federal court to Possession of Child Pornography.

Officials say this stems from an investigation separate from the March incident.

Moon is facing up to 10 years in prison as well as a supervised release between five years and life on these federal charges.

During that incident in March, officials were able to safely locate the child and they were returned home safely.
