Russell County Library hosted a groundbreaking yesterday for a significant expansion project.
The project is known as The Green at RCPL and the Bank of Jamestown Pavilion.
The expansion includes 5 acres and consists of an indoor/outdoor pavilion, inclusive sensory play space for children, an amphitheater, and walking path.
Following yesterday’s groundbreaking, Library Director Lindsey Westerfield told WJRS News she’s thrilled to see the project go from an idea to breaking ground on the project. Westerfield also spoke to WJRS News about the community support for the project.
The Bank of Jamestown Pavilion is expected to host several library and community events when completed.
