The Laker Baseball team got off to a hot start and defeated the Cumberland County Panthers by a score of 19-4 in three innings last night.
Owen Loy and Tanner Stringer each drove in 3 runs for the Lakers. Stringer, Mason Jasper, and Mayes Gosser each finished the night with a pair of hits as Gosser and Jasper each drove in a pair of runs as well. Jack Shearer also recorded 2 RBI on the night.
Gosser picked up the win on the mound, pitching 2 innings and giving up 4 runs (2 earned) on 4 hits and striking out 4 batters.
Parker Riggins pitched the final inning, giving up no hits and striking out 1 batter.
The Lakers now prepare for the 2A Tournament at Apollo High School in Owensboro this weekend. The Lakers take on Johnson Central tomorrow at 3 p.m.
