Three people were taken to Russell County Hospital following a two-vehicle collision Wednesday afternoon.
The crash occurred just after 1 o’clock on U.S. 127 at the intersection with Voils Road.
Russell Springs Police Officer Brandon Bullock’s investigation determined a 2018 Nissan Altima driven by 33-year-old Charles Pickett of Russell Springs was stopped in the southbound lane, waiting to turn onto Voils Road, when it was struck from behind by a 2016 Nissan Altima driven by 81-year-old Sharon Lawless of Jamestown.
Lawless was transported to the hospital by Russell County EMS. Pickett and a passenger in his vehicle were taken to the emergency room by family members.
All three were treated for injuries sustained in the collision.
Traffic was re-routed for approximately 30 minutes while Russell Springs Police, Russell Springs Fire and Russell County EMS worked the scene.
