Violet Russell, of Russell Springs, passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at her home. She was 89 years of age.
Born on February 14, 1937, in Russell County, she was a daughter of the late Elvert and Hazel Dierking Russell. Violet was a retired mechanic from American Laundry in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was a fun and loving person, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Survivors include her son, Johnny (and Brenda) Russell; her grandson, Johnathan Russell; her great-grandson, Dexter Russell, all of Russell Springs; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Violet was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Delmar Russell, Raymond Russell, Garold Russell, Dale Russell Fred Russell, Dorothy Elsener, Beatrice Heavey, Isabelle Simmonds, Mildred Lynch, and Jean Catanzaro.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation rites were honored by Bernard Funeral Home.
A private graveside service and inurnment will take place at McBeath Cemetery.
