More than 50 cited in Dunnville chicken fighting operation

More than 50 people were cited in connection to a chicken fighting operation in Dunnville.

Troopers with Post 15 were were called out Saturday morning just after 11 a.m. local time to an area on Riffe Creek Road in Dunnville for a complaint of an active chicken fight.

When troopers arrived, they found several people leaving a building while carrying multiple chickens.

Troopers say some of the chickens had blades on their feet and the building had grand stands for seating.

Troopers found 30-40 cars at the location, and state police say 54 people were cited on charges of cruelty to animals second degree. Those 54 individuals are set to appear in Casey District court.
