The Russell County Board of Education approved a fund request for the Russell County High School Educators Rising group at its recent board meeting.
The board heard from members of the group, who were seeking funds to be able to participate at national competition in Washington D.C.
WJRS News spoke to Russell County Schools Superintendent Michael Ford about the group.
The group is made of high school students planning on a future in education with many stating that they would like to return to Russell County to teach upon graduation.
