Rodney Woods reportedly let go as Wayne County Basketball coach

A well-known high school basketball coach in the area and across the state has reportedly been let go.

Wayne County High School Boys Basketball coach Rodney Woods has reportedly been removed as head coach of the Cardinals program.

Woods had been at the helm of the Wayne County program for nearly 40 years, and is a member of the Kentucky High School Basketball Hall of Fame.

He has more than 800 wins at Wayne County during his career and ranks top 5 in the state all-time in wins.

The court at Wayne County High School is named in his honor.

The decision comes as a surprise to many, and is reported to be a decision made by Wayne County Schools Superintendent, Donnie Neal.
