Man shot in Wayne County after entering someone’s house

A man was shot after entering someone else’s house in neighboring Wayne County over the weekend.

According to a spokesperson with Kentucky State Police Post 11, the incident occurred sometime around 2 a.m. Sunday when a man, identified as 56-year-old Tracy L. Kidd, gained entry into a house on Frisby Street, reportedly startling the homeowner who was not identified by law enforcement.

The homeowner fired a weapon at Kidd, striking him, and then called 911.

When EMS arrived, they discovered around 40 grams of suspected methamphetamine in Kidd’s possession.

Kidd was airlifted to the University of Kentucky Hospital. There were no other reported injuries in the incident.

State Police Post 11 is continuing the investigation.
