According to Russell County Coroner Mark Coots, a woman died following a workplace incident at Davis Gate off North Highway 127 Wednesday afternoon.
According to reports, the coroner’s office was called to Davis Gate just after 12:30 Wednesday after a female employee, identified as 33-year-old Maria Silvia Guzman Dominguez of Somerset, became entangled with a machine she was working on.
Dominguez was pronounced dead at the scene by the Russell County Coroner’s Office.
The coroner’s office told WJRS News Dominguez will be taken to Frankfort to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for further examination and identification of injuries received.
The investigation is ongoing by the coroner’s office and OSHA.
Russell County EMS, the Russell Springs Fire Department, and Russell County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the scene.
