911 issues persist in Casey County

Issues with 911 in Casey County are continuing to linger.

At the most recent Casey County Fiscal Court meeting, several first responders were on hand to discuss the issues that exist, with the most pressing issue being that communication channels between dispatchers and first responders does not come through clear on emergency radios.

The issue was first raised last month, as county officials said they would take the next 30 days to investigate.

A month later, the problems remain.

At the meeting, first responders relayed issues about emergency radios and mapping to the fiscal court. However, the director of Bluegrass 911, which includes Casey, Lincoln, Garrard, and Mercer counties, said it could cost north of $400,000.

No action on the issue was taken during the meeting.
