William D. Neat, Sr., age 89, of Ohio

William D. Neat, Sr., age 89, of Ohio died Friday, June 23, 2023 at the age of 89. He was born on April 4, 1934 in Dunnville Kentucky, the son of Bruce Neat and Myrtle (Neat) Rexroat.

Bill retired after 30 years from driving a semi truck locally in Cincinnati. He never called in sick. One year, he worked seven days a week for the whole year because his boss needed him. He told him he would do it on the condition he would come in early Sunday morning, but he needed to let him off to go to church and have lunch with his family. Then he would come back and finish the job. He also served in the Army in communications as a field carrier repairman. He led a simple life. He loved his family very much. Whenever he met someone new, there were two things he’d be sure to tell you. One, his mother is 105 years old and two, his granddaughter had a heart transplant when she was a baby. Bill had a very special relationship with his mother and they were very close. He would proudly say that she made the best meals! He loved all his children and grandchildren very much and he enjoyed spending time with them and they loved to make him laugh. He also loved the Lord and he was a faithful member of Fellowship Baptist Church of Montgomery, OH. He would constantly invite anyone and everyone to church. He loved to play his guitar and sing gospel hymns for anyone who would listen. He would attend as many church singings as he could all around the area. He loved to have gospel music jam sessions with his siblings which made him very happy and content. He recorded many CD’s/records including one with his daughter, Donna Christine. He also would never turn down a good home cooked meal and loved taking walks with his dear friend, Lois.

He is survived by his 105 year old mother, Myrtle Rexroat; his children, Deborah (Steve) Molloy, Donna (Rick) Powers, Randy Bell and William D. (Jill) Neat, Jr.; his grandchildren, Gene, Eric, Kennedy, Lincoln, Joshua, Tonya, Greta, Shaylah, Ciarah, and Lindee; his siblings, Ronald (Ann) Rexroat, Ronald (Roma) Neat, Sylvia (John) Hezlep, Jan (Paul) Ritchey, Timothy (Tammy) Neat; many great and great great grandchildren, sisters and brothers in law, nieces and nephews; and his special friend, Lois Sharp.
