A Tennessee man was arrested following a multi-county pursuit that ended in neighboring Adair County early Friday morning.
According to the Adair County Sheriff’s Office, deputies attempted to perform a traffic stop on South Highway 61 on 37-year-old Adam Nix after he was reported to be swerving lanes and driving recklessly.
Nix failed to stop and led police on a pursuit through several city streets in Columbia before going into Cane Valley and then on to Green County before turning back toward Adair County.
The pursuit came to an end back in the limits of Columbia when the vehicle entered into a dead end parking lot, struck a fence and was boxed by Sheriff and City Police vehicles. The driver then exited and fled on foot before being apprehended by deputies.
Nix faces several charges including possession of methamphetamine, driving under the influence, fleeing or evading police first degree, possession of marijuana, operating on a suspended license, and other charges.
