Russell Springs man flown out following Friday night wreck

A Russell Springs man was flown from the scene of a single-vehicle accident on East Steve Wariner Drive just before 9 p.m. Friday.

According to Russell Springs Police, Antonio Quetzalcoateco was operating a Chevy sedan on East Steve Wariner Drive when he crossed into the opposite lane and hit the ditch near the entrance of Russell Springs First Baptist Church.

He reportedly lost control of the vehicle, re-entering the roadway again before going back into the ditch and the car overturned into the roadway.

Crews with the Russell Springs Fire Department were able to remove the driver from the vehicle and he was flown to the University of Kentucky for treatment of injuries.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the accident.

Russell Springs Police Officer Blake Adamson is the investigating officer. He was assisted on scene by the Russell Springs Volunteer Fire Department, Russell County EMS, and Russell County Sheriff’s Office.
