Barn struck by lightning, catches fire on Hwy 619

A lightning strike was determined to be the cause of a barn fire on East Highway 619 early Monday morning.

Russell Springs Volunteer Firefighters were called to the scene just after 1 a.m. yesterday and were able to contain the fire in about 45 minutes, according to Fire Chief Bobby Johnson.

Eight firefighters were on scene. No injuries were reported.
