The Russell County Middle School Football and girls basketball teams competed in state tournament action over the weekend.
The Russell County Middle School came away with a dominant victory over Bell County in the middle school state tournament on Saturday.
The Lakers will be back on the field tomorrow in conference tournament action against Green County at home with kickoff at 6 p.m.
On the basketball court, the 6th grade RCMS Lady Lakers made it to the conference championship, but fell to Adair County.
The 8th grade squad picked up two big wins in pool play on Sunday at the state tournament over Boyle County and Owsley County, but fell on Sunday to eventual tournament champion North Laurel.
