Lady Laker Volleyball caps historic regular season with win

The Russell County Lady Laker Volleyball team capped off a historic regular season with a 2-1 win over Marion County last night at Laker Gym.

After dropping the first set 28-26, the Lady Lakers were dominant in the second and third, winning 25-11 and then 25-14.

The win moves the Lady Lakers to 28-7 on the season. The 28-regular season wins are a program record, according to KHSAA data.

The JV squad fell 2-0 to Marion County last night, but wraps up its season with a 14-2 record.

The Lady Lakers will be back in action on Monday when they go on the road to Metcalfe County to begin play in the 16th District Tournament against the winner of Metcalfe and Cumberland County on Sunday.
