Russell Springs Fire Chief Bobby Johnson told WJRS News fire crews responded to a reported explosion at a power substation off Highway 1729 Wednesday evening that resulted in several people in the Russell Springs area losing power.
Johnson told WJRS News that crews were able to quickly extinguish a small fire that resulted from the explosion and electric workers were out Wednesday evening helping restore power to those affected. By 8:45 p.m., neither South Kentucky RECC or KU were reporting power outages.
