At a special-called meeting Thursday afternoon with a room full of teachers and school employees in attendance, the board of education approved raises for school employees.
The board unanimously approved a proposal by Superintendent Michael Ford that will give classified employees an average of a 10 percent raise, while giving certified employees an average of a 5 percent raise.
The increase for everyone equates to a minimum of $100 pre-tax per paycheck or $2,400/year.
This also includes a 27+ years line for certified staff and substitute teachers will receive a 10 percent increase as well.
