The Russell County Middle School Softball team fell to Clinton County in the conference championship Thursday night.
The Lady Lakers easily defeated Adair County in the semifinals by a score of 11-1, but fell to Clinton County 4-1 in the championship game which was played immediately after.
Rylen McGowan put together two strong performances for the Lady Lakers. McGowan finished 3-6 at the plate with 5 RBI between the two games including two extra-base hits. Madelyn Roy and Kaelyn Campbell each drove in a pair of runs between the two games as well.
The Lady Lakers finish the season with a 15-4 record.
