The Russell County Middle School Girls Soccer team defeated Casey County and the boys lost to Wayne County in the opening round of the district tournaments on Monday.
The girls defeated Casey 8-0 with Adriana Thomas scoring 4 goals, Addison Coffey scoring 2, and Madison Weisbrodt and Jasmine Bennett each scoring 1.
The boys fell to Wayne County by a score of 5-0.
The girls will play again at home tonight at 6:30 p.m. CT in the second round.
