Pulaski County to end animal shelter agreement with Russell County at end of year

The agreement that Russell County has with Pulaski County to take in stray animals to the Pulaski County shelter will expire at the end of the year, and Pulaski County doesn’t plan to renew the agreement, according to Russell County Judge Executive Gary Robertson.

Robertson told the fiscal court Monday that the Pulaski County Judge Executive notified Robertson that the county would not renew the agreement but wanted to give Russell County notice ahead of time so the county could begin looking at other options.

Robertson told the magistrates they need to begin brainstorming ideas of what the county will do soon.
