Increase in cost of asphalt could cost county thousands

At this week’s fiscal court meeting, the court approved bids for a variety of road-related materials for the next fiscal year.

One significant change was the cost of asphalt for road paving, which jumped from about $86/ton to $102/ton.

Robertson said the increase could cost the county thousands of dollars more depending on how much is used by the county.
