Adair man living under bridge arrested for sex offender registration violations

An Adair County man who was living under a bridge was arrested for violating sex offender registration requirements.

According to the Adair County Sheriff’s Office, 45-year-old Jesse Cross was arrested for not being in Compliance with the KY Sex Offender Registration (second offense) and violation of the offender registry by living within  1,000 feet of a school (Lake Cumberland Head Start).

Law enforcement received multiple complaints recently about a man living under the Campbellsville Street bridge. Residents complained that the man, identified as Cross, was acting erratically and yelling at people.

When officers arrived on scene, they found Cross who was holding a machete in his hand. Law enforcement was able to get Cross to drop the machete before arresting him.

He was lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail and the Adair County Sheriff’s Office continues the investigation.
