Russell County Schools will be utilizing funds from the state to improve security at Russell Springs Elementary.
The board of education gave approval to move forward with plans to establish a new security vestibule at Russell Springs Elementary which will build a second set of doors people would have to go through in order to enter the main part of the school.
Each of the other schools in the district already have a similar set up and this adds another layer of security to the building.
