RCHS FFA competes at UK Field Day

The Russell County FFA Chapter competed at University of Kentucky Field Day April 12. Over 2000 students from 3 different states gathered to show their skills in agriculture events.
Elizabeth Hoskins won the Citizenship Bowl Contest out of 45 contestants. Garry Chris Warriner, Hadleigh Parrish, and Karley Antle also participated.
The Dairy Evaluation Team was made up of Avery Hart, Emily Hart, Jateria Coffey, Ella Antle. This team came in 7th overall out of 25 teams and Avery Hart was the contest overall high individual out of almost 100 contestants.
The Farm Business Management team consisted of Morgan Taylor, Jaren Fischer, Cass Foley, and Emily Johnson. The team placed 4th overall out of 14 teams. Cass Foley was the team high individual.
The Horse Industry Knowledge team placed 3rd overall out of 47 total teams. Team members were Chloe Robertson, Callie Reynolds, Alexis Fox, and Addison Coppage. All 4 team members came in the top 35 out of over 200 contestants.
Bryanna Smith competed in Job Interview Sr. Division and placed 5th overall.
Brandon Leach competed in the Tractor Driving Sr. Division.
The Livestock Evaluation team placed in the top half of the 75 teams that competed. Team members were Ellie Terry, Jasmine Grant, Peyton Withers, and Eli Foley. Ellie was the team high individual.
We had 2 Veterinary Science teams compete. Team 1 with Abby Wolford, Will Stephens, Hannah Yates, and Gracie Abrell placed 15th out of 41 teams. Will was 22nd high individual out of over 150 participants. Vet Science Team 2 members were Makenzie HInkle, Olivia Hinkle, Jaxon Popplewell, and Lucas McFall. Team 2 placed 25th.
