Lady Laker Softball falls to Pulaski County

The Russell County Lady Laker Softball team went on the road to Pulaski County on Monday, falling by a score of 11-1.

The Lady Lakers trailed 2-1 after the first inning but Pulaski County was able to build their lead throughout the game before exploding for five runs in the sixth inning that ultimately put the game away.

Tarryn Reynolds picked up the loss on the mound for the Lady Lakers, pitching 5 2/3 innings and giving up 11 runs on 13 hits and striking out three batters.

Sophie Shearer and Natalie Hart led the team with two hits each. Caroline Wells and Camryn Woodrum each added a hit for the Lady Lakers. Shearer drove in Russell County’s lone run in the first inning on a line drive that scored Wells from third base.

The Lady Lakers will look to bounce back on Wednesday when they host the Campbellsville Lady Eagles.
