Lady Laker Softball falls at home to Barren County

The Russell County Lady Laker Softball team struggled to find offense against Barren County Monday night, falling by a score of 9-1.

The Lady Lakers only managed four hits against a strong pitching performance from Barren County’s Lille Broady, who struck out 11 batters.

Sophie Shearer led the team with two hits, while Camryn Woodrum and Addy Davis finished with one hit each. Davis scored the team’s lone run on a Barren County error in the fourth inning that cut the lead to 2-1, but the Trojanettes added five runs in the fifth inning to put the game away.

The Lady Lakers are now 11-6 on the season.

The Lady Lakers will look to bounce back tonight as they host Adair County. First pitch is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
