Lady Laker Softball defeats Adair County 10-1 on Senior Night

On Senior Night, Russell County Lady Lakers Senior Natalie Hart put on a strong pitching performance, striking out 10 batters in seven innings of work and only allowing one run to help lead the Lady Lakers to a 10-1 victory over Adair County.

The Lady Lakers controlled the game from the start, scoring two runs in the opening frame, adding another in the third, two in the fourth, and opening up the lead even more with four runs in the fifth inning.

Sophie Shearer drove in three runs for the Lady Lakers, Emma Popplewell drove in two runs, and Addy Davis, Caroline Wells, and Camryn Woodrum drove in a run each. Hart also recorded two hits on the night.

The Lady Lakers are now 12-6 on the season, and will have today off before traveling to Casey County tomorrow for a matchup with the Lady Rebels. The two teams have already faced off once this season with Russell County coming out on top by a score of 7-0.
