In Laker Sports action from Thursday:
***The Lady Laker volleyball team got a good district win at Laker gym Thursday night over Cumberland County. The Varsity team won three games to zero, and the JV team won two to zero. The Lady Laker volleyball team will be in action again on Monday night at 5 o’clock for another district matchup against Metcalfe County.
***In high school golf, the Laker boys golf team held their Senior Night activities for three Laker senior golfers. The Lakers took on Pulaski County at Lakewood Country Club. The Lakers got a one stroke victory over Pulaski, 152 to 153. Senior Clay Anderson led the Lakers with a two under score of 34. Senior Nick Blakey was two over at 38 and Senior Dru Stapp had a five over 41. Bentley Perkenson had a 39.
In the JV golf match, the Lakers lost to Pulaski County, 177 to 206. Kole Rixon had a 44, Paxton Trautman had a 47, Daylon Blevins and Tyson Stille both had 53.
***In middle school girls basketball, the Lakers were at home against Adair county. In the 7th grade game, Russell County won 30 to 25. Camden Coper had 11 points. In the 8th grade game, Russell County won 45 to 11. Rachel Bolin had 17 points and Giada Lindsey had 15 points. This Saturday, the 6th grade team plays at Metcalfe County at 9 o’clock.
