RS Christmas Parade Took Place on Saturday

The Russell Springs Christmas Parade was held this past Saturday and Russell Springs Mayor Eddie Thomas said the annual event brought hundreds of people to Main Street once again this year…

The Russell County Special Olympics placed first in the school float category with the Russell County Bus Drivers placing second. In the business float category, it was Cash Express in first place and South Kentucky RECC in second place. In the club /civic organization, float category it was the high school drama club placing first and the Russell County Jaycees placing second, in the church float category it was Friendship Baptist Church placing first, Russell Springs Christian Church in second and Cumberland Baptist Church in third place. Art Works placed first in the miscellaneous float category and second place went to the Russell County 15U Babe Ruth baseball team.

Abby Wolford, representing the FFA, was crowned Miss Santa and Anna Mae Grider was honored during the parade as this year’s grand marshal for her many devoted years of service to the city.
