Deputy Luke Hughes tells WJRS News that a vehicle being operated by 46-year-old Patrick Kimes of Russell Spring was traveling on Hale’s Highway near the former Dunbar’s Western Store, shortly after 7:30 Friday night, when his vehicle crossed the centerline and struck another vehicle being operated by Anthony Shrum, also of Russell Springs. Kimes was arrested at the scene by Deputy Hughes and charged with wanton endangerment, first-degree, a felony; Driving under the influence, second offense; and driving on a license suspended for previous DUI conviction. Kimes was lodged in the Russell County Detention Center. Russell County EMS was called to the scene, but both Kimes and Shrum refused treatment.
