Citing unspecified irregularities, Governor Matt Bevin formally requested an official recanvass Wednesday of the results in Tuesday’s general election.
Democrat Andy Beshear has a 5,189 vote lead over Bevin after 100 percent of precincts reported their results earlier this week.
The recanvass will take place the morning of Thursday, November 14th when county board of elections will convene. Upon completion of the recanvass, the local boards will file their final reports with the secretary of state.
