Laker Sports, Friday, August 2nd

Russell County Laker baseball standout Will Dando, who graduated in the spring, has committed to play college baseball at Division 1 Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia.

Dando was 6-2 for the Lakers this past season with 3 saves, 47 strikeouts and a 3.47 ERA. He also batted .369 with 41 hits and 32 RBI.

Laker pitching coach Rob Clark said the coaching staff was proud of Dando’s accomplishments and have witnessed firsthand the work he’s put into baseball from a young age. Clark said Dando always gave his team a chance to win and, with his work ethic, has plenty of room to grow as a player due to his tremendous upside. Clark also said Dando would be a key contributor to the Thundering Herd program and that the Laker staff wishes him great success at the next level.

Will is the son of John and Heather Dando.
