Two persons have died and two others have been injured in an accident that occurred Saturday afternoon shortly before two o’clock in neighboring Wayne County.
Authorities say the accident occurred on Highway 90 near the Sportsman Club near Monticello. Reports are that Linda Braswell, age 50, of Wayne County was pronounced dead as the result of injuries sustained in the collision. Also, a minor child who was airlifted from the scene to a Lexington hospital has also passed away.
The roadways around the accident scene were closed for several hours as Kentucky State Police reconstructionist was called to the scene. At least two other persons were injured and airlifted for further treatment. Authorities say multiple others were involved but did not receive injuries. The Kentucky State Police, London Post, is handling the investigation. Further details are expected to be released soon.
