Pulaski County Man Convicted of Murder and Kidnapping

A Pulaski County man has been found guilty of murder and several other felony charges following a four-day trial in Pulaski Circuit Court.

Sheriff Bobby Jones says a jury returned the verdict Thursday against 62-year-old John Hannon Stacy of Somerset. Stacy was convicted of murder, kidnapping involving serious physical injury, first-degree burglary, first-degree assault and attempted murder.

The charges stemmed from two incidents in eastern Pulaski County in July 2022. Investigators said Stacy entered a woman’s home on Parrott Drive with a gun, held her against her will and shot her. She survived.

Deputies later responded to Paradise Lake Drive, where another shooting victim was found dead. Stacy was located as he allegedly attempted to leave Pulaski County and was taken into custody.

The jury recommended two life sentences for the murder and kidnapping convictions, along with additional sentences for the remaining offenses.
