Pastor from Somerset Arrested on Charges Involving Minors

A Somerset man who served as a pastor in Lincoln County has been arrested following an investigation into alleged sexual offenses involving minors.

Pulaski County Sheriff Bobby Jones says 54-year-old Scott C. Hughes of Somerset was arrested at his home Thursday night without incident.

The sheriff’s office says the investigation involves allegations of sexual contact with people who were minors at the time, with the alleged offenses dating back to 2018 in Pulaski County.

Hughes is charged with second- and third-degree sodomy, first-degree sexual abuse and other offenses.

He was lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center on a $75,000 bond.

Hughes served as pastor of Pleasant View Baptist Church in Waynesburg in Lincoln County.
