Russell County parents are being reminded that it’s time to complete the school district’s new online registration process before students return to class.
Russell County Director of Pupil Personnel Jessica Gossage says the new system replaces the traditional packet of forms that parents typically received during school open house events.
Parents will use the online registration to update important student information, including parent and guardian contact information, emergency contacts, field trip permission forms, school nurse treatment authorizations and other required documents.
To complete the registration, parents should visit the Russell County Schools website at russell.kyschools.us then click on the automatic pop-up for the Parent Portal and follow the instructions to complete the registration.
Gossage says parents should also understand the difference between the district’s two primary communication platforms: Parent Square and Parent Portal.
Parents who have not yet created a Parent Portal account and need assistance are encouraged to contact the Russell County Schools Central Office and ask to speak with Jessica Gossage or Tabitha Bell, who can help them get registered before the new school year begins.
