Thirty-five firefighters from three Russell County fire departments battled a structure fire for more than four-and-a-half hours Wednesday afternoon, while also dealing with dangerous heat conditions.
The 911 call was received at approximately 2:30 p.m. reporting a structure on fire adjacent to the residence of Jason and Robbin Stilts in KLG Estates, behind Stephens Pipe & Steel in Jamestown.
The building served as an office and workspace for Jason Stilts’ business and also housed a camper.
Thanks to the efforts of firefighters from the Jamestown, Russell Springs and Eli Fire Departments, the blaze was contained to the commercial structure and the nearby residence sustained no damage. The structure was a total loss.
