The county recently received some good news about the COPS grant that will provide funds to employ a security officer at Russell County Hospital.
Judge Executive Randy Marcum said at this morning’s fiscal court meeting that the county has received funding to cover the cost of the matching funds for the grant. Marcum applauded the work of Deputy Judge-Executive Susan Melton in securing more than half-a-million dollars in grants for the county over the last two years.
Marcum said last week the county is set to begin advertising to hire a certified police officer for the position at the hospital.
